Ali Soozandeh. More like this. Watch options. Storyline Edit. In this gorgeously animated drama, the lives of several strong-willed women and a young musician intersect.
Their stories reveal the hypocrisies of modern Iranian society, where sex, drugs, and corruption coexist with strict religious law. In the bustling metropolis of Tehran, avoiding prohibitions has become an everyday sport and breaking taboos can be a means of personal emancipation.
Nevertheless, women invariably end up on the bottom rung of the social order. A young woman needs an operation to "restore" her virginity. A judge in the Islamic Revolutionary Court exhorts favors from a prostitute in exchange for a favorable ruling.
The wife of an imprisoned drug addict is denied the divorce she needs in order to live independently. Making use of rotoscope animation, expat Iranian filmmaker Ali Soozandeh creates a portrait of contemporary Tehran that would be impossible by any other means. Not Rated. Did you know Edit. Top review. Superficial story hidden behind a flashy animation. The idea of an animated film through rotoscope made the frames eye catching and interesting to watch. It also helped to make the movie more believable since it has not been shot in Tehran. But the story has been superficially narrated and has not gone to more than a collage of the misery of a nation. The spectator cannot sympathize with the characters, since there is just a lot of unfortunate incidents taking place one after another, without answering fundamental questions.
For instance, why is the boy mute? Is it congenital or has anything happened to him? Why does the woman become a prostitute? Why has the neighbor aborted her child two times? Unfortunately this type of story telling makes the movie not last for long and be only useful to win awards.

Tasked with disabling an Iranian nuclear reactor, her mission has implications not just for the Middle East, but for the entire world order. When the Mossad mission fails, Tamar goes rogue in Tehran as she rediscovers her Iranian roots and becomes romantically entwined with a pro-democracy activist. Tamar's soul-searching leads her to become even more conflicted about her mission, while the tension mounts as Iranian authorities tighten the net in their desperate search to locate her and her Mossad colleagues.

So our "super spy girl", who should be hiding because she is being hunted by people trying to kill her decides to go to an outdoor protest and a dance party.
When a stranger she is trying to hire to make her fake passport asks if she has any money, she's says yes in my backpack. He proceeds to pull out an envelope full of cash and fan through it.
